| Grand Figural French Lacis Drapery Panel This incredible drape is completely hand made of hand knotted and needlewoven linen thread right down to the 33 rare French spiral tassels and knotted 2 strand linen fringe knotted up to 5 times! Both sides are edged with more than 7" of bobbin lace.The top has a ribboned bower of roses cascading down the sides.The figural work of 3 Victorian boys and a kid measures 20"x 30" and is framed with a Greek key motif. The bottom of the lacis work is 5 bunches of grapes. I think it is in wonderful condition, the linen fibers are very sturdy and heavy ,there are a few broken places,but easily repaired or left alone as the knotting makes it most secure. There are small holes just under the gathering in the center top. This huge drape measures 102" x 45" Not including the lace border. I am selling this as found ,as some prefer the aged color, however I feel sure it would lighten if properly laundered.A most collectible piece! | ||
