| This beautiful confection is completely sewn by hand, right down to the hand stitched seams, which are then whip stitched! The hand embroidery on this very fine linen lawn is very practiced and includes the rare padded center flowers embellished with a crossed design...( I can't remember the name of that stitch!) The 5" of lace at each end is bobbin/pillow lace with an insertion of needle lace. The center design is needle lace as well. Oh, there are eyelet slots on the two sides for running through ribbon if you desire. After gentle laundering, I reinforced an area on the inside of the back of the case with a piece of antique linen to add strength in a worn,weak area. This of course won't show with a pillow inserted. It measures 28" X 12" Whew, this little treasure has a lot going fo it! | ||
