| Perhaps a liturgical piece for the Host, or in keeping with Napoleon's Bee theme, I can only wonder, however it is sooo fab, and most unusual for the collector! The four large bees measure 5" x 1 1/2". Their wings are outlined in button hole stitch around the cut work, with insertions of net in the wings. The body is heavily padded embroidery with tiny french knots. There are scalloped button hole embroidered where the lace is attached. Four perfect eyelets in each corner. There are 4 tiny pinholes in the linen and 2 light brownish stains that will continue to fade with laundering, breaks in some of the netting, however the lace is all in tact. Measures 16 1/2". I don't think I'll ever find this one again! | ||
