Two Chinese late Song to Yuan qingbai (yingqing) hu-shaped porcelain vases decorated with iron rust spot decoration arranged in diamond patterns on a finely crackled, thin grayish glaze. One vase has a distinct footed base and the other has a slightly concave flat base. The shorter vase is glazed in the interior. Circa 13th/14th century. 4 3/8” high and 4 ¾” high. The taller vase is in very good overall condition with some flaking to the iron spots. The shorter vase has glaze flaking and degradation. From the private collection of a former American expatriate to Guangzhou in 1983-1984.
