Heavily potted Japanese Meiji period Arita Imari "sansui" (landscape) design scalloped edge plate decorated with a figure and two geese in front of traditional huts in underglaze blue and overglaze red and green pigment with extensive gilt highlights against a white porcelain ground. The base bears a small underglaze blue "fuku" (good fortune) seal and a single spur mark. 9 1/2" diameter. Late Meiji Period (late 19th century to early 20th). Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There are a few surface scratches in the glaze.
