Oversized Japanese limited edition sosaku hanga “kappa-ban” (stencil print) of a tengu mask titled “Mayoke Tengu” (also known as "Tengu-shaped Amulet") by Yoshitoshi Mori (1898-1992). The print is pencil-signed “Yoshitoshi Mori,” dated ’87, and numbered 10/50. The artist’s red seal is above the signature. The known paper size is about 17”V x 27 1/4”H. The framed size is 19"V x 28 1/2"H. The print is nicely framed in the original Kato Gallery frame and appears to be in very good overall condition. The image is color illustrated as plate 10 in a Tokyo catalogue published in 1987. This print was purchased in Japan and is from a Scottsdale, Arizona collection. Please note that the spot on the lower left corner on the image of the framed print is from the camera flash.
