Old Chinese Yixing Pottery Teapot Calligraphy Floral
Old Chinese beehive or bell form Yixing pottery teapot engraved on one side with a calligraphic inscription and on the opposite side with a floral spray. An impressed mark is on the underside of the lid. The interior pouring hole has a rounded cover with numerous small holes which act as a strainer. Estimated to date from the from the Cultural Revolution period (pre-1980). This teapot measures about 7" in length from the handle to the spout and about 3" high to the top of the lid. Very good overall condition. This teapot is from the private collection of American expatriates who lived in Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.
