Chinese late Qing dynasty (19th century) front-opening Han style lady's jacket embroidered on the front and back in silk polychrome thread with clusters of flowering plants on a dark cobalt blue silk satin ground. The robe is trimmed with in a densely embroidered mille fleur band in shades of blue. The mille fleur embroidered yellow sleeve bands also include scattered butterflies. A metal button secures the neck. Measures about 49 1/4" from sleeve tip to sleeve tip and 38” in length. The robe and lining are both in very good overall condition. The lining has some minor soiling at the lower back and some wear and soiling at the neck. There is some pigment transference at the back of one sleeve band.
