Oversized limited edition "sosaku hanga" woodblock print by Clifton Karhu (1927-2007) titled Kiyomizu II dated 1969. The print colorfully illustrates the architectural details of the Kiyomizu Temple. This artist's proof is pencil-signed, dated, and titled in the bottom margin. Paper size: 28"V x 24 1/4"H (image: 26 1/2"V x 23"H). Very good color and overall condition. There are small pieces of archival linen tape and older tape residue on the back margins which show through in some areas to the front margins. Clifton Karhu spent 50 years living and working in Kyoto. He exhibited in Japan from 1966 until his death. His prints can be found in the collections of the Minneapolis Museum of Art, Fogg Museum, and the Boston Museum of Fine Art. This print is from a Tucson, Arizona collection.
