Contemporary Chinese scrolled ink and color on paper painting depicting ladybugs and snails among leafy flowering gourds and bamboo. The painting is inscribed in black sumi ink at the upper right, dated in cycle years to 1986, and signed Sun Weizhen. The inscription translates roughly as "sweet flavor of melons of the four seasons." Traditional white silk mounting with wood scroll ends. Scroll size: 53”V x 17 5/8”H (paper: 27”V x 13”H). Very good, clean overall condition with a few scattered foxing spots and pigment transference spots on the mounting.
