Chinese Qing dynasty blue and white export porcelain deep rectangular form covered vegetable serving dish decorated on the domed cover and interior well in the Canton pattern with boats on a lake, bridges, figures, willow trees, and traditional buildings in a landscape scene set within a rain cloud border. Each of the four exterior sides is decorated with a floral spray. Dates from the first half of the 19th century. 9 1/2”L x 8 1/2”W x 5 1/4”H. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is a tiny original burst bubble firing flaw on the pine cone knob. This style of dish is illustrated on page 245 (plate 656) of “Chinese Export Porcelain: Standard patterns and forms, 1780 to 1880” by Herbert, Peter and Nancy Schiffer, 1975. From the private collection of a former American expatriot to Guangzhou and Beijing from 1983-1987.
