Chinese late Qing dynasty Guangxu period porcelain basin decorated in the interior with flowers and leaves in white slip surrounding a central lotus plant on the floor of the well all set against a pale cobalt blue ground. The slightly recessed flat base is unglazed. Late 19th to early 20th century. 10 5/8” diameter x 3 5/8” high. Very good overall condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. There is a small firing flaw in the interior and a tiny one on the exterior where the glaze doesn’t completely cover. There are tiny old scratches in the glaze consistent with its age and use. From the private collection of a former American expatriot to Guangzhou and Beijing from 1983-1987.
