Japanese Meiji Bronze Vase Phoenix Bird Signed Yoshida
Signed Japanese bronze vase decorated in high relief with birds in flight among incised and relief foliage and clouds. The long tail of a prominent Phoenix bird at the front drapes around the side. The top band bears an apochryphal Chinese Ming Dynasty Xuande reign mark on each side. Late Meiji Period (late 19th to early 20th century). 9 1/2"H. The seal on base reads in Japanese "Big Japan Yoshida Made." Heavy piece in very good overall condition. Minor dings and some irregularity to rim.
