Chinese late 19th century two door softwood wardrobe cabinet in a rustic rosewood colored finish. A separate two door hat cabinet fits on top of the chest. Our ceiling height is not adequate to accommodate the hat cabinet in its proper position, so a photograph of the hat cabinet is available as enlargement 2. The interior features a horizontal shelf with two drawers, one behind each door. A square brass hardware plate is at the center of the doors and square brass hardware is on the door hinges. This cabinet measures 67"H + an additional 28 1/4"H for the hat cabinet = 95 1/4"H x 44"W x 21"D. The chest is sturdy and is in very good overall condition. There are some characteristic cracks in the wood and some very old bug damage to the bottom of the legs. This piece is from the private collection of American expatriates who lived in Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s. Please contact us for out-of-state shipping quotes.
