| Two Chinese Song/Yuan dark brown glazed stoneware covered jars (guan) with rounded shoulders tapering to a slightly splayed unglazed foot and base. The covers bear prominent pearl-shaped finials. Traces of russet are visible at the top and bottom of the glaze and at the edge of the lid. Tiny frits in the lid of one jar reveal a gray body coated with a brown slip. There is a horizontal luting line apparent in the glazed interior. Circa 13th/14th century. 6 ¾” high x 4 ¾” diameter. | ||||||||||||
