| Chinese Jin Dynasty (1125-1234) thick bodied stoneware bottle vase of globular form with a flaring mouth. The vase is subtly decorated with a pattern of horizontal ribs extending around the belly. A dark brown to black glaze (referred to as "temmoku" by the Japanese) characteristic of Henan (Honan) Province wares ends just above the unglazed base. The glaze is permeated with a fine pattern of pinhead sized white speckles. 11"H. Very good, solid overall condition except for a few rim chips (see enlargements). | ||||||||||
