| Set of eight nicely carved Republican period (circa 1920's) Chinese hardwood side chairs decorated in an Art Deco style with slightly varying relief fruit motifs on the back splat. South China origin. Each measures about 36"H (seat back) x 21"W x 16 1/4"D. Very good overall condition with the original finish. The chairs are wobbly and need the joints to be reinforced. Minor flaws to the finish and wear consistent with the age. From the private collection of American expatriates who lived in Hong Kong in the 1970s and 1980s.
