Chinese Yuan to Ming Stoneware Brown Black Glazed Jar

Chinese Yuan to Ming dynasty black-glazed high-shouldered tapered stoneware storage jar with horizontal striations. The entire jar, including the interior, is glazed, leaving only the underside of the foot and a few chips at the base (which could be production flaws) free of glaze. The wide, flat, smooth foot rim reveals a buff colored body. Circa 14th to 15th century. Measures 5 3/4” high x 4 ½” diameter. Solidly potted and in very good overall condition. From the private collection of a former American expatriate to Guangzhou in 1983-1984.
