Chinese Yuan - Ming Gray Glazed Porcelain Striated Vase

Chinese Yuan to Ming dynasty high-shouldered short-necked porcelain vase tapering to a slightly splayed unglazed smooth flat base covered in a gray glaze with horizontal striations. A luting line is evident in the glazed interior. Circa 14th/15th century. Measures nearly 4 ¼” high x 3 ¾” diameter; mouth 2 ¼” diameter. Very good overall condition. There are black flecks in the glaze at the mouth and a few old browned hairline cracks on the body which appear to be from production. There is an orange burn line at the bottom where the glaze meets the buff colored body. From the private collection of a former American expatriate to Guangzhou in 1983-1984.
