Chinese globular form wide mouth rice or grain measure jar decorated with a circular band of moulded bosses around the top shoulder. The brown glaze extends into the interior and ends well above the unglazed, slightly concave flat base which reveals a rough reddish-buff body. A prominent luting line is visible inside at the mid-section. Estimated to date from the Yuan dynasty (circa 14th century). 2 3/4" high x about 3 5/8" diameter. Good overall condition with no chips or cracks but with glaze flaking visible in the images. From the private collection of a former American expatriate to Guangzhou in 1983-1984.
