Southeast China Swatow spotted deer Jar
Jar, Provenance: (Southeast) China, Swatow, Dating: The end of the 16th century / first half 17th century. Jar with a wide, inset and glazed base, nearly vertical sides and an angled shoulder, decorated in underglaze blue. Decorated with lotus leaves around the shoulder and on the waist two panels with a spotted deer or haze, rocks and plants. Dimensions: Height: 55 mm (2.17 inch), Diameter: 66 mm (2.60 inch), Diameter of footring: 40 mm (1.58 inch), Diameter of mouth: 23 mm (0.91 inch).
