Vase. Provenance: China. Dating: Kangxi period (1662-1722), c. 1700. Mark: Artemisia leaf mark, underglaze blue. A six sided vase on a footing with a glazed base, decorated in underglaze blue. Floral decorated with hatching-lines on all six sides, neck and foot. It is not a Chinese way of painting on porcelain and may have been influenced by the Dutch. This technique was short-lived for it mostly occurs on blue-and-white export wares around 1700. Dimensions: Height: 130 mm (5,12 inch), Diameter: 53 mm (2,09 inch), Diameter of mouth: 25 mm (0.98 inch), Diameter of footring: 40 mm (1,57 inch). Condition: The cover is lacking, otherwise perfect.
