Dish with a flattened rim. Provenance: Japan. Dating: Late 17th early 18th century. Dish on a footring with a spreading flat rim and a glazed base. Imari decorated in underglaze blue, iron-red and gold. In the centre two chrysanthemums. The underglaze blue rim is decorated with two panels with fences, peonies and chrysanthemums, the blank panels are decorated with flying hõ-õ birds in between flowering plants. The exterior wall is not decorated. On the base three spur-marks in a V-pattern. Dimensions: Height: 32 mm (1.26 inch), Diameter of rim: 245 mm (9.65 inch), Diameter of footring: 130 mm (5.12 inch). Condition : A small firing flaw to the rim otherwise perfect.
