Oval, 3.75 cms. X 3.5 cms. (1 1/2 inches X 1 3/ 8 inches). Rochard studied in Paris and came to London, c. 1820. He exhibited at the RA, the SBA, and the NWCS between 1820 - 1855. Monica F. Gray (active 1898 - 1919) “Monsieur Beauclair” Oil on canvas. Portrait of a French Bulldog. Inscribed to obverse, “Monsier Beauclair”. Black Frame. Rectangular, 20 cms. X 18 cms. (8 inches X 7 inches). Provenance: From a European collection of art work by by Monica Gray. The British artist, Monica Gray was active between 1898 - 1919. She exhibited at the Royal Academy, London in 1900 and 1905. .She was know for her depiction of dogs in portrait.

The Artist Signing “Renk” (British, c. 1910) Oil on canvas. A wonderful, querky, portrait of a brown trout, most probably caught and mounted as a trophy. Signed and inscribed to obverse, “Renk. /30th May 1910/4 lb 2 oz.”. Original oak frame. Rectangular, 40 cms. X 65 cms. (15 1/2 inches X 25 1/4 inches).

George Paice (1854 - 1925) Oil on canvas. Portrait of the horse named, “American”. Period walnut frame. Rectangular, (34 cms. X 44 cms. 13 1/2 inches X 17 1/4 inches). The Horse, “American”, was born in 1915. His blood line is half British/half American. George Paice was born in 1854. He possessed a keen and sensitive eye for painting horses and had a personal interest in racing. Paice married in 1879 and had eight children...

Henry Edridge (British 1769 - 1821). Watercolour on ivory. Portrait of a gentleman wearing a brown, double-breasted coat, cream waistcoat, white frilled chemise, stock, and cravat, his hair powdered and tied with a black bow. Oval, 5 cms. X 4 cms. (2 inches X 1 1/2 inches). Henry Edridge was born in London August, 1769. He attended the Royal Academy Schools, London, where he was praised by Sir Joshua Reynolds. Edridge began exhibiting at the Royal Academy as a miniaturist in 1786...

French School, c. 1830. Watercolour on ivory. Half length portrait of a gentleman wearing spectacles and holding a newspaper. Carved gilt frame. Rectangular, 7 cms. X 5 cms. (2 3/4 inches X 2 1/4 inches).

French School. Late 18th or early 19th Century Watercolour on ivory allegorical painting set in lid and glazed. Set in turned walnut box, lined with tortoiseshell. The scene depicts a memorial, doves (symbolic for love) dog (symbolic for fidelity), trees, a river and an open circular building in the distance. Circular, 2.5 cms. high ((1 inches), 9 cms. diameter (3 1/2 inches).

English School, c. 1810. Watercolour on ivory. Portrait of a young woman, her face framed with dark, upswept hair parted in the centre, and curls to each side. She is wearing a pale blue gown with gold chair and pearls around her neck. Ebonized papier mache frame with brass inset. Oval, 7.5 cms. X 6 cms. (2 3/4 inches X 2 1/2 inches).

X 6 cms. (3 inches X 2 1/2 inches). Very small amount of paint loss to margin at 7 o'clock; otherwise, very good condition. Bright colours and lovely subject.

Fruiwood frame with brass inset. The reverse, with label, ""Napoli". Circular, 7 cms. diameter (2 3/4 inches). Good condition.
