The portrait depicts the young woman, in 3/4 pose, with upswept brown hair parted in the middle, wearing large pearl drop earrings, and a black, off-the-shoulder gown, trimmed in white lace. In the background, a window reveals trees and sky. Brass embossed frame with roses and a bow to crest. Oval, 7.75 cms. X 6.5 cms. (3 inches X 2 1/2 inches)...

French, late 18th Century. Wood, toroiseshell, and ivory portrait miniature box. The circular box is painted with pink, blue and white stripes and zig-zags outside. The lining is tortoiseshell. The lid is inset with an ivory miniature of a young woman dressed in blue. This box is very unusual and is n lovely condition. Box, 6 cms. diameter (2 1/4 inches). Oval miniature, 3 cms. diameter (1 1/4 inches)...
