English School, early 19th Century portrait of a young woman (c. 1830). The water color on ivory portrait depicts a young woman, with long brown hair and large brown eyes, posed nearly full face, facing slightly to the left. She wears a white, empire waist dress, tied with a bow beneath the bust, and a collar trimmed in lace and pinned to the centre with a brooch. Against a pink, blue, and gray background. Original brass easle frame with hanging loop, with "C" scrolls and foliate chasing. Rectangular, portrait 11 cms. X 8 cms. 4 inches X 3 1/4 inches). With frame 14 1/2 cms. X 11 1/2 cms. (5 1/2 inches X 4 1/2 inches). Excellent conditon.
