| this great old Victorian hanging oil lamp has a gorgeous ruby red coin dot font with an antique, dual duplex burner and a matching Ruby Red shade in a hobnail pattern. The photos are able to describe this wonderful antique lamp much better than I ever could, so I'll just list the particulars. All the parts of the hanging framework are made of brass and are functioning as intended. I have no history to offer, except that it was purchased privately in southern York County, Pa. The ruby red hobnail shade measures 13 3/4 inches across and overall the width of the piece is 17 inches. The font fits firmly into the cup and the burner, lamp and chimney are ready to be filled and set alight. This lamp has a counterbalance weight that works in conjunction with the lamp itself as it moves easily up or down and stops anywhere between. This Lamp is guaranteed old, circa 1890's or earlier and is beautifully detailed throughout. In very good condition with original patina. No breaks or damage to the glass. Hangs down approximately 44 inches and can be lowered an additional 16 inches to light or clean. An excellent and gorgeous ruby red Victorian hanging lamp | ||
