| I have always loved face pins and have a lot of them, some of which were photographed recently for a collector's "Vintage Visages" by Kathy Flood that was just released this past summer. This is one that was photographed for the book. It is large, 3" x 2", and heavy. There are jewels of different colors, as well as clear crystal earrings. I am not sure who this person is supposed to be, but it is a very exotic looking face. It is reminiscent of the Blackamoors that many people collect, but it has no enamel, and never has had that I can see. The round multicolor stones in the headdress are bezel set, and the three pear shaped glass stones under the chin are prong set. They are all faceted, as are the clear dangles on the hoop earrings. The brooch is in good condition, and it is not marked. | |||||
