The Pink Lady Collection
|One of the nicest things about having a new venue allowing one to sell both old and new collectible jewelry, is that I get a chance to sell some of the new designer's pieces, which in my opinion will be the collectibles of tomorrow. I have been on a buying spree lately, just plain giddy with excitement at getting to share with my customers some of what I think is the best of the new jewelry. Probably Sobral is my favorite of all of them. All Sobral pieces are works of art. They are hand made in Brazil out of recycled materials, so that each one is different from the last one. For instance, Sobral's new "Flash Gordon" collection is made of recycled computer boards. The jewelry is chunky, brilliantly colored, playful, and often made with unusual shapes. It was relatively unknown outside of Brazil and France, until 2008 when Karl Lagerfeld chose Sobral for all of the runway jewelry for his collections that year. From then on, it has been highly sought after. This is a large clear resin ring that has a substantial shank and sits up at least 1/4" atop the finger. The ring is just a chunk of clear resin and the top is 1" square. It is in excellent condition, new with tags, never worn, and it is etched with the Sobral logo, as shown.|
