I was fortunate enough a few years ago to purchase some unsold jewelry store stock from the widow of the store owner. Several of the pieces were Hattie Carnegie from the late 1950s and early 1960s which was just before the store went out of business. This set is one of those items. The colors are stunning. Blues and purples, aurora borealis coatings along with clear, lots of facets to reflect light. plus different sizes and shapes of beads. The necklace is a three strand choker - about 14" long with a 2" extender. The metal pieces are gold toned, as are the tiny rondels that separate the beads. THe necklace is marked Carnegie on one of the choker ends. The matching earrings are clips. Each one is a cluster of beads identical to the necklace, and they fall about 1 1/2" from the top. Both of the earrings are marked. The necklace still has the store tag with numbers, and I think the price tag says $21.50. Can you imagine? The set has never been worn, so it is in excellent condition, and you won't believe the sparkle and glitter it has. It is truly a treasure.
