This was a gift to my grandmother in the 1950s and it was an odd gift for her since she never smoked! It has been in a box in my cousin's house ever since my grandmother passed away in 1961. It is a lovely painted cigarette case and matching lighter in a presentation case all from Stratton of London who did many of the most beautiful compacts and cases. The painting is of roses on a creamy white background. All three of the pieces are in excellent condition, the presentation case, not as good. Since fewer people smoke these days, I sell a lot of cigarette cases for people to use for business cards. Repurposing makes sense especially with one this lovely.
