A large tsa-tsa depicting Thousand-Armed Avalokitesvara with traces of polychrome. In the lower corners at Avalokitesvara's feet are Manjushree and a wrathful protector. The tsa-tsa is 9-1/4 inches long and 6-1/2" wide. Aside from the paint loss and wear to the face it is in good condition. Age and specific content of the clay are beyond our abilities to determine. It appears to be very old, though for Trocadero's purposes we will only date it Pre-1900. |
