Tibetan Silver: Buddhist Prayer Wheel
Seen everywhere in the world of Tibetan Buddhism, the prayer wheel and the string of prayer beads are perhaps the most obvious signs of personal devotion.

Inside the cylinder of the prayer wheel is a tight roll of printed prayers and with every turn of the wheel the prayers have been effectualized.

This is a fancy silver repousse version of a prayer wheel, obviously for a person of some affluence. Along the outer circumference of the wheels are auspicious syllables and the eight auspicious symbols.

The wheel is 12-1/2 inches from handle to finial and the cylinder is 3-5/8 inches in diameter. It is in good condition.
