This is a bangle or disc made from what is purported to be calcite, as stated in the collection catalog, "Early Chinese Stone and Circular Art". I am listing this and two other items today that were both part of the Chad Herrington collection. Most, if not all, the items from this collection were auctioned off a few years ago. Mr Herrington attributed these objects to roughly 1000-700 BCE to minority cultures in southeast Asia. This was possibly from the Ban Chiang culture. The stone appears solid and smooth. It measures roughly 11.1 cm across the outside diameter and roughly 5.9 cm inside diameter. There are two radial cracks that are probably repairs, or judging from the collection catalog, may be part of the original design structure.
