This is a lovely and extremely rare black stoneware vase of mae byong form. It is from the Koryo period of ancient Korea (circa 10th century AD). This design is still popular today but this rare antiquity is a stunning original that has survived intact for over 1000 years. There are no signs of repair or restoration and the only damage is in the form of some chips around the edge of the base. The piece measures roughly 33 cm in height. Korean antiquities are rare on the private market and one of this quality belongs in a discriminating collection worthy of a museum. Don't miss this rare opportunity.
