Oaxaca, Mexico Folkart Mask Carving
Oaxacan artisan Neftali Martinez of the talented Tribus Mixe group has created this handsome bright blue mask,carved of copal wood. It is painted with amazing detail, in a range of colors including blue, pink, orange, light blue, red, yellow and accented with white dots. Note that the eyes and surrounding area are shaped like a fish. Approximate dimensions: 7" High x 5" Wide. Stand not included.
