Oaxaca,Mexico Frog Folkart Carving
Where are the flies? This wonderfully carved and intricately painted large frog has been created by highly talented Oaxacan artisan Eleazar Morales. The patterns on the back are bright and light pink and orange and gold, with black accent lines. The lower body is mottled gray with whimsical black dots encircled with turquoise and the underside is medium green, as are the toenails. Its mouth is purple and eyes are a combination of pale turquoise accented with dark blue and green. Approximate dimensions: 11" Long x 10" Wide x 6" high. Really unusual.
