Oaxaca, Mexico Armadillo with Lizard Folkart
Carving
This exquisitely detailed armadillo, with a small iguana on its back, has been created by Felipe Ramirez, talented Oaxacan artisan. It has a blue head and legs with its mid-back and tail painted an intricate, multi-color geometric design of red, blue, green, purple and yellow; the front and rear areas of the back are a stylized red and green design. The lizard getting a ride on the armadillo's back is turquoise. An amazing piece! Approximate dimensions: 13" Long x 5" Wide x 12" High (to tip of tail).
