Folk Art, Oaxaca, Mexico, Carved Iguana

Cocoa brown is the predominant color of this magnificent crested iguana created by imaginative artisan Aurelio Zarate. The crest is red and green with an intricate web design. The finely painted geometric designs on the body and tail are green, blue and lavender, accented with various colors. The iguana is carved from copal wood. 17-1/2 inches tail to head; 7" to top of crest; 16" at widest foot span.
