Oaxaca, Mexico Folkart Virgin of Guadalupe Carving

Well-known Oaxacan artisan Eleazar Morales has created this lovely and unusual Virgin of Guadalupe, the Patron Saint of Mexico. The Virgin is on a background of brown, gold and beige, with brown rays. She wears a robe of dark green with gold metallic stars, and a softly glowing peach and metallic gold patterned gown. The angel at the lower part of the carving has a peach and red shirt, and is on a gray wing-patterned background. The carving is standing piece. Approximate dimensions: 10-1/2" Wide (at the widest point of the scalloped design) 4" Deep (front to back of base) x 15" High. A carving for the collector of fine Mexican folkart.
