Oaxaca, Mexico Meerkat folkart carving
Eleazar Morales, well-known Oaxacan artisan, has created this wonderful meerkat carving. It has a rust colored body accented with a darker rust spatter pattern. The meerkat's stomach is two tones of gray in the same spatter technique, and the gray extends up under its chin. The eyes are bright orange and the nose is a black and red design, in the usual detailed, imaginative painting by Morales. Approximate dimensions: 11" Long (from front of the body itself (3") to the tip of the tail, which extends to the rear) x 3" Wide x 11" High. A real charmer!
