Folk Art, Oaxaca, Mexico, Wooden Cat
This stylized black and white cat is created in a chevron design by talented Oaxacan artisan Ephraim Fuentes. This is one in a series of delightful felines. Fuentes' carving style is a rounded body with flat legs - very contemporary. The cat has green eyes, touches of yellow on its toes, nose and around the eyes and purple around its white-whiskered muzzle. The tail is black and white striped. For the cat lover or collector of the whimsical, this perfect. Dimensions: 15" length x 9" width (foot to foot at widest point) x 18" height (to tip of tail - - photo does not have the full length of tail).
