Oaxaca, Mexico Folkart Devil Carving

Oaxacan artisan Avelino Perez is well-known for his carvings of devils, and this is a fine example of his work. His Bishop has a yellow robe with brown trim and a cross hanging from his neck; a cup is in his outstretched hand. His miter is white, with gray horns protruding. The carving's head and hands are the requisite red. Approximate dimensions: 9" high, with horns; 3-1/2" wide at widest arm width; and 3" deep, from the back to the front edge of the cup.
