Oaxaca, Mexico Toucan Folkart Carving
This handsome toucan is the creation of Oaxacan artisan Eleazar Morales. The unusually painted bird has a beak painted in various shades - - orange, pink, yellow, brown and turquoise; inside the beak it is painted red, purple and wine. The feathers on the upper body are purple and black and the mid-back and wings are shades of gray and black. The legs and feet are turquoise. Approximate dimensions: 11" Long x 4" Wide x 9" High. A good example of Morales' very detailed brush work.
