Robert Brackman was born in Russia in 1898 and came to America with family in 1908. He died in Noank, CT in 1980. Brackman was a painter and an educator. He studied at the National Academy of Art in NY under George Bellows and Robert Henri. He taught at several schools, including the Art Student’s League and The Brooklyn Museum School. His paintings have been and are in many museums including the Brooklyn Museum, the Smithsonian and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He is listed in WWW, as well as several other art reference books.
