Cherubs are one of the most popular motifs. The cherubs on this bookslide are adorable and the medallions are in excellent condition. Very unusual colors are used on these medallions. The color pallet is grey and white. On the brass under the medallions is the makers name and patent number. The wood is coromandel which is also known as Kings Wood. Beautifully detailed is this sterling silver eperne. It was made in 1909 in Birmingham, England. The hallmark is clearly visible and the maker was Alexander Clarke. The small basket measures 4" across, 3 1/2" to the top of the handle and is 1" deep. The large basket measures 7 1/2" x 4 1/2" and is 2 1/2" deep. The stand is 8 1/4" across and 6 1/2" high. When the large basket is in place on the stand it measures 10 1/4" high. All the pieces are in pristine condition.
