| Zuni inlay necklace and earrings in form of the Apache Gan Dancers circa 1950s. This set compares perfectly with works by Vera Luna from the 1950s however she did not start signing her work until the mid-seventies according to Barton Wright. Turquoise, jet, spiny oyster and abalone shell are handcut and placed into channel settings. Each Gan Dancer is different, they were all individually handmade. The necklace measures 18 1/2" end to end. The center Gan measures about 1 5/8" tall. The side Gans and the earrings measure about 1 1/8" tall. The earrings have been converted to pierced by the addition of small loops at the backs. The old screwbacks were removed and the work is clean and smoothed with time and wear. These earwires can be changed out for shepherd's hook type wires if preferred but the current wires do lock for safety sake. Original handmade chain to which a secure lobster clasp was later added. Separate if needed, earrings $195, Necklace $295. | ||||||||
