| Salmon 9 Foot wall hanging made in the button blanket style of the Northwest Coast tribes. Salmon symbolizes tenacity and resilience, renewal, bounty, circle (and cycle) of life and abundance. This is good weight canvas and has black felt applique. The buttons are modern and matched. The sewing is clean and professional and done by machine. This was purchased at auction in Vancouver BC and was said to be Native Canadian made but I have no provenance. Very good overall condition. One area of darkening on canvas. Measures: 100" long and 30" wide. (Nearly 3'x9') Would be wonderful in a lodge, business or home if you've got the space. Wants an ironing. The top (reverse) of this hanging has a pocket sewn in so a dowel can easily be used to hang this. | |
