| A wonderful old Inuit Eskimo soapstone sculpture of a Hunter carrying his bow and an arctic shore bird. The carving measures 3 3/4" x 3" and the hunter stands 2 1/4" tall. The carving is signed in syllabics as well as numbered E9-1728 to the bottom. Carved by noted artist Parsa Nora (b1930-) from the Canadian arctic community of Inukjuuak. The carving dates from the 1960's and is well executed in both detail and form, lovely use of different colored stone adds contrast and definition to the piece. Excellent condition. | ||
