Designed by Spratling c. 1950's, this martini pitcher & stirrer were hand wrought in Taxco, Mexico. The pitcher stands 5 1/2" tall & weighs 400 grams. The stirrer/spoon is 10" long. Both are in excellent condition. Both the spoon and pitcher are signed on the reverse. The pitcher is pictured on p. 258 of MEXICAN SILVER by Penny Morrill & Carole Berk. This handwrought silver box was designed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling in the 1950's. The box measures 3 1/2" X 2 5/8" and is 1" high & weighs 178 grams. The lid is inlaid with panels of rich brown & yellow shell held in place by sterling silver rivets. The box is in beautiful condition & fully hallmarked. This design is pictured on p. 49 of SPRATLING SILVER by Cederwall & Riney, on Phyllis Goddard's site spratlingsilver.com and in her book SPRATLING SILVER: A FIELD GUIDE. This Spratling design is included in the permanent Mexican silver collection at LACMA.

This beautiful pair of silver plates designed by Spratling were hand forged in the 1940's. Each plate measures 4" across. Together the pair weigh 125 grams. This hand hammered pair of decorative sterling silver dishes designed and signed by Fred Davis weigh 75 grams. Each dish measures 3 1/2" across. Both are in beautiful condition. Each hallmarked FD 925 on the reverse. Fred Davis designs are included many collections including the 20th century MEXICAN silver collection of LACMA.

Measuring 5 1/4" across & weighing 156 grams this 940 sterling silver dish was designed by Taxco, Mexico designer Hector Aguilar. The dish is centered with a 1951 coin with a HIDALGO profile. The reverse side of the coin features an eagle fighting a serpent. This candy dish is pictured on p. 67 of SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill. HA, 940, TAXCO, & TALLER BORDA and eagle 9 hallmarks are found on the underside rim of the dish.

In 1965 "THE WORLD OF SPRATLING" museum exhibit touring the U.S. included this design in their collection. Rosewood and sterling silver are used in this ovoid piece which stands 1 3/4" high & 4 3/4" long. The tray is in beautiful condition. It is pictured on Phyllis Goddards spratlingsilver.com and in MEXICAN Silver by Penny Morrill and Carole Berk. Spratling 1950's hallmarks are on the underside.

Although the detailed design is similar, each of these Spratling candlesticks were handwrought a few years apart. Each carries specific Spratling hallmarks coinciding with their construction dates. The earlier example is 2 1/8" high. The later is 2 1/4" high. Each measures 2 1/4" across at the base. The pair weigh 155 grams. Both are in beautiful condition. Weighing 63 grams this modernist Spratling design measures 2 3/4" X 2". Hallmarked SPRATLING DE MEXICO eagle 13 on the underside. This design is pictured on Goddard's site spratlingsilver.com.

This early 925 sterling silver box with detachable lid was designed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling. The box stands 4 1/2" high and measures 3" x 2 1/2". Pictured on spratlingsilver.com where it's described as a tall cigarette box. It is sometimes referred to as a tea caddy. Beautiful vintage condition.

This vintage 1940's hand hammered, hand forged 980 sterling silver bowl was designed & signed by Taxco, Mexico artist William Spratling (1900-67). Weighing a hefty 652 grams or 23 oz. the bowl measures 10 inches across and 2 inches high. The base measures 5 1/4" across. The rim is finished with a thick rope design. This piece is in beautiful condition & fully hallmarked for Spratling on the reverse.

Rare, early hand forged sterling silver sauce or gravy boat designed & signed by Taxco, Mexico artist Hector Aguilar (1905-86). Weighing 153 grams the bowl measures 7 1/2" long X 2 3/4" wide & 2" high. Beautiful condition with a gorgeous hand hammered interior.

This hand hammered sterling silver bowl was designed & signed c. 1940's by Taxco Mexico artist William Spratling. The interior of the bowl measures 6 1/2" across & 2 1/2 inches deep. Striking silver pitcher & stirrer designed & signed by San Miguel Allende, Mexico artist Carmen Beckmann circa 1960. The pitcher is 9" tall & 7 1/2" at it's widest. The stirrer is 12" long. The two pieces weigh a hefty 970 grams. The pitcher is studded with 8 faceted, bezel set amethyst stones. It's also decorated with 3 applied sterling star fish. The stirrer in finished with two faceted amethysts on either side of the terminus. Fully signed on the base. Beautiful condition.

Extremely rare sleek & elegant pair of hand wrought sterling silver candlesticks designed and signed c. 1950's by Taxco, Mexico modernist designer Antonio Pineda (1919-2009). Each stick measures 8 1/4" high with a 2 3/4" base. The pair weighs 612 grams or 1 1/2 lbs. Exquisite condition. Each stick hallmarked on base. Antonio designs are included in the permanent 20th century Mexican silver collection at Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
